
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – A collision on Interstate 75 over the weekend left one person dead and another injured, according to WFLA.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a woman driving a sedan had gotten off at the wrong exit at W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Hillsborough County at about 10:45 p.m. When she steered left into the next lane to go back onto I-75, the car collided with a pickup truck. The impact caused the car to go off the roadway, where it then hit a sign and a tree.
A passenger in the sedan died after being transported to an area hospital. He was a 66-year-old man from Brandon whose name was not released. The driver of the car, a 59-year-old woman from Largo, was seriously injured and hospitalized. The 26-year-old driver of the pickup was not hurt.
