
SARASOTA, FL – Police were on the scene of an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Sarasota Friday night, WWSB reports.
The incident occurred on eastbound Fruitville Road in the vicinity of North Tuttle Avenue shortly before midnight. Police said the pedestrian was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck. No details were released on the victim’s identity, or what led to the crash.
The driver involved cooperated with investigators, police said. The incident caused the eastbound lanes of Fruitville Road to be closed to traffic from Briggs Court to North Tuttle Avenue.
