
PORT RICHEY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a woman died in a pedestrian accident in Port Richey on Saturday morning.
The Tampa Bay Times reports the victim was hit by a southbound sedan as she was trying to walk across U.S. 19 near Regency Park Boulevard at about 5:45 a.m. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Troopers said she was a 42-year-old resident of Union, Kentucky.
A 33-year-old man driving the sedan and his 30-year-old female passenger were not hurt in the accident. The FHP is continuing to investigate the fatal crash.
