PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident at an intersection in Pinellas County early Saturday morning, reports the Tampa Free Press.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the victim was crossing in the area of Seminole Boulevard and Walsingham Road in Largo when he was struck by a northbound car shortly after 5 a.m. The pedestrian, a 53-year-old Largo resident, was pronounced dead after being rushed to a local hospital.

According to the FHP, the driver of the car involved was a 50-year-old man from Seminole. State troopers said the driver did not see the pedestrian, who was wearing dark clothing in what was described as a low-light environment.
