TAMPA, FL – Work is underway to repair damage on a road in Tampa caused by a weekend car accident, reports ABC Action News.
Police said the crash involving a Jeep Cherokee and a Maserati occurred Saturday in the area of W. Estrella Street and E. Henderson Avenue. The collision caused the Jeep to hit a fire hydrant at the intersection’s southwest corner. That resulted in a large amount of water escaping, causing a depression in the roadway.
The westbound lanes of W. Estrella Street are now shut down for the repair work, which officials estimate may take at least a couple of days. Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
