
TAMPA, FL – According to North Port Police, a tanker-truck driver was injured after he crashed on southbound I-75.
I-75 SB near MM 172 is closed due to a tanker leaking fuel after leaving the roadway and ending up on its side. Roughly 200 gallons. Sarasota and Charlotte County HAZMAT teams are on scene, as well as a NPFD and NPPD. Driver transported by ground to the hospital. Updates to come.

First responders and HAZMAT crews were called to the scene to help clean up the roughly 200 gallons of fuel the truck leaked onto the roadway around 6:44 a.m.
The driver was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.
