
ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A pedestrian was hospitalized after being hit by a pickup truck in St. Petersburg Saturday night, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The accident happened in the area of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South at 30th Avenue South just after 10 p.m. The victim, identified as 54-year-old Gloria Jean Ferrara, was crossing the intersection when a northbound Dodge Ram struck her.
Ferrara, of St. Petersburg, was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to Bayfront Health-St Petersburg. Police said the driver of the pickup stopped and cooperated following the incident. Investigators did not observe any indications that drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
