SPRING HILL, FL – The driver of an SUV was seriously injured when his vehicle collided with a pickup truck in Spring Hill Sunday morning.
The Suncoast News reports the crash occurred on U.S. 19 near Forest Oaks Boulevard at about 10:43 a.m. Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol said the 71-year-old SUV driver veered from the inside lane to the center lane while going south on U.S. 19. His vehicle then hit the side of a pickup truck that was also headed south on the highway.
The SUV went across a median and across Frontage Road before hitting a billboard and a culvert. The driver, a Dunedin resident, was hospitalized in serious condition. A 55-year-old Williston man was behind the wheel of the pickup with four passengers inside, including two children. None of them were injured in the wreck.
