
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – A car accident in Hillsborough County caused a driver to be ejected from his car and seriously injured, according to the Tampa Bay Reporter.
The driver, a 45-year-old Tampa, was behind the wheel of a sedan on Interstate 75 north Thursday morning when the accident occurred at about 4:30 a.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, he lost control of the car after driving at a high rate of speed and went off the road. The FHP said the car went onto a shoulder of the highway, struck a speed limit sign and several charges.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car as it was hitting the trees. He was transported to an area hospital and listed in serious condition.
