
TAMPA, FL – The Tampa Police Department tweeted that it was on the scene of a serious crash involving a pedestrian Wednesday afternoon.
The incident was reported at 3:08 p.m. Police said South Dale Mabry Highway was closed in both directions between West Empedrado Street and Bay to Bay due to the accident. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes in order to allow the police investigation to proceed. The highway reopened in both directions about a half hour later.
There was no immediate information on the extent of the injuries to the pedestrian.
