
COLLIER COUNTY, FL – Authorities say a teenager is facing charges over a deadly accident that happened on Interstate 75 in August, WWSB reports.
Investigators said the 17-year-old was driving on I-75 in Collier County when his vehicle hit a semi-truck and went off the highway.
The car flipped and ended up in the northbound lanes of I-75. A 16-year-old passenger in the car was killed, while two other teenagers were hurt.
The driver, a Venice resident, was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges, including vehicular homicide reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license (causing death). The teen was booked into the Sarasota County Jail.
