
ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Police say a teenager was hospitalized after he was hit by an SUV while riding his bicycle in St. Petersburg on Monday afternoon.
In a news release, the St. Petersburg Police Department said the boy was struck by the vehicle in the area of 34th Avenue North and 37th Street North shortly after 2 p.m.
The 14-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured in the crash and was transported to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
Police said the SUV driver is cooperating with police as the investigation into the accident continues.
