
CLEARWATER, FL – State troopers said a 16-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was struck by a train in Pinellas County Thursday afternoon, according to WTSP.
The incident occurred on the railroad tracks adjacent to State Road 590 and McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater at about 4:12 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said the teen was walking on the tracks and did not see an oncoming westbound CSX freight train before he was hit.
The boy was airlifted by rescue crews to an area hospital.
