PALM HARBOR, FL – A fire at the Circle K on East Lake Rd took the life of a woman Wednesday, according to WFLA.
The incident began when a 66-year-old woman backed her Nissan sedan into a gas pump, which caused it to knock over and pin another woman who was pumping gas between it and her HONDA SUV. The exposed gasoline ignited, causing a fire that killed the woman.
It is unclear exactly when the accident took place, but police had wrapped the perimeter of the gas station in crime scene tape by around 11 p.m.
The incident is under investigation by Florida Highway Patrol and the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
