ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Police said a woman was hurt when her car was hit in a head-on collision Wednesday night, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The accident happened on Roosevelt Boulevard outside the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport at about 10:40 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said a car driven by a 48-year-old St. Petersburg man slammed into a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old New Port Richey woman, seriously injuring her. The man was reportedly driving the wrong way at the time, and it is suspected that drugs and alcohol contributed to the crash.
Police said both of the drivers involved were wearing their seat belts.
