
PASCO COUNTY, FL – State troopers say a woman died after being struck by a vehicle on a roadway in Pasco County early Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was hit by a northbound SUV while she was attempting to cross U.S. 19 at the intersection of Flora Avenue at approximately 1 a.m.
The 38-year-old victim, a St. Petersburg resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not yet been released. The 23-year-old woman driving the SUV and her passenger, a 31-year-old man, were not injured in the accident. The FHP said the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time she was hit.
